Who I am and how I work
Hey, I’m Hazel. Certified running coach, mindset coach, and lifelong runner. I started running in my teens. I’ve kept running because of what it gives me.I became a coach because of what I can give others.
For the last 30 years, I’ve helped people of all ages and abilities to become the very best runners they can be.
I know what works and what doesn’t. As a coach, I don’t just chuck training plans around. I get right in there with my clients and give them the advice, support, and inspiration they need. The guidance to be awesome.
In my 40-odd years of running, I’ve done a few things. Marathons, half marathons, 24-hour races, ultras. I’ve run the trails of Wellington, the hills of Northburn, and the forests of Rotorua. In 2021, I completed my biggest achievement to date: the 250km seven-day Marathon de Sables through the Sahara Desert.
And I’m not done yet.
When I’m out on those trails, I feel more connected to the world around me. It’s the best feeling in the world.
My mission is to help you find what makes your running special. Whether it’s strength, fitness, or smashing some freakin’ incredible goal, I’m the coach to help you do it.
Because - you know what? I probably wouldn’t have done half these things without the support of a coach.
No matter how good you are or how long you’ve been running, the right coach can make all the difference.
Someone to keep you accountable. Someone to keep you on track, inspired, and motivated. To help you through the rough days, celebrate your good days, and answer your questions.
As a coach, that’s how I roll.
